1.1.- WOOD.
All the involved components in the wood manufacturing process of Greenkett Engineered Hardwood Flooring PLUS and KID products are dried up to 7 ± 2% of their humidity content when supplied.
1.1.1. TOP LAYER OF NOBLE WOOD. Consists of one or more wood pieces from species like American Oak, Jatoba, Iroko, Beech or Maple,…etc.
This layer is composed by different hardwood species of a highest decorative level.
Thickness of this layer is 3.2 ± 0.2mm in PLUS product and 2.2 ± 0.2mm in KID product.
Sections of wood making up this composition have the following measurements:
A/ Two-slat multilayer parquet.-
Length 400 mm to 1500 mm.
Width 94 mm
B/ Three-slat multilayer parquet.-
Length 200 mm to 500 mm
Width 64 mm
C/ 4-slat multilayer parquet.-
Length 200 mm to 500 mm
Width 48 mm
D/ 1-slat multilayer parquet.-
Length 2200 mm .
Width 140 mm.
Note: In the heads of pieces only slats with a minimum of 60 mm will be accepted.
1.1.2.- CORE LAYER MADE OF CONIFERS. This layer is composed of a phenolic plywood board of 9 mm thickness. This plywood is composed of several sheets jointed between them. For making this, we use phenolic adhesives resistant to water to protect the hardwood flooring against any humidity coming from the sub floor. In this way we produce a core layer with maximum homogeneosity. After that, profiling will be made in this core layer.
1.1.3.- BOTTOM LATER OF ROTARY CUT VENEER.
This is a layer made of coniferous wood. This plate is arranged longitudinally and must have sufficient strength to assume the stress that the parquet floor maybe subjected to.
Thickness is 2 mm.
1.2.- ADHESIVES.
The adhesives in the phenolic plywood are a mixture of water resistant glues (WBP) which are applied to each layer whose products are in accordance with the European normative for formaldehyde emissions E1.
1.3.- LACQUERS. An extremely high quality lacquer is always used on Greenket Engineered Hardwood Flooring to protect and preserve it. An essential barrier in the preservation and enhancement of the Engineered Hardwood Flooring is required. For this reason, we always use BONA lacquers, a 80 years experience Company in the lacquering sector.
Lacquer is applied using rollers in 7 consecutives coats up we take a final measure of 100 gr/m², which gives us an spectacular finish. These lacquers are acrylic and they are waterbased, with no solvents, minimizing the impact on the environment.
Last lacquer cap is treated with a special product developed by BONA for improving product behaviour.
