PARQUES TROPICALES S.A.
Installation

Greenkett floorings must be placed on any dry, clean and levelled-out subfloor, which can bear expected loads without deflection. All carpeting and padding must be previously removed. Greenkett floorings may be installed by means of the floating method on concrete, wood, plank and chipboard, PVC, synthetic surfaces, linoleum and ceramic floors. In all cases, the subfloor must be totally dry.

MACHIHEMBRADO LOCK SYSTEM

The following recommendations should be taken into account before starting the installation:

    • Greenkett floorings are normally laid parallel to the incoming light. In long narrow rooms we recommend laying it lengthways, allowing a minimum of 1.5 cm for expansion gaps and joints along the walls and fixed objects (like doorframes, pipes, electric installations, threaded joints, etc.)
    • The installation of surfaces above 74 m2 may need expansion joints. When Greenkett floorings are installed in several rooms, surfaces will be separated at the doorframes and arches using appropriate transition strips. Expansion gaps and settling joints will not be filled in. Settling joints should also be installed in the subfloor.
    • Once the floor has been properly prepared, the foam may be installed. If vapour barrier foam is used (it is not necessary on wood subfloor), the lengths of material should overlap at least 20 to 30 cm and be pulled approximately 5 cm up the wall. In order not to damage the foam, only the necessary material for the next 5 rows will be placed (approximately).
    • Installation will begin at the left-hand corner of the room, installing a panel piece with the groove facing the wall. A distance of approximately 1.5 cm with the sidewall must be maintained. Floor panels must be secured once they have been placed to prevent them from sliding out of place.
    • Flooring panels must be placed irregularly: the leftover cut piece from the last panel in the previous row is used as the first piece to begin the next row, bearing in mind that the end seams are offset by at least 58 cm. If necessary, a new panel will be cut. The final panel should not be less than 25 cm in width. This should be taken into account when calculating the width of the first row plates.
